Growing up, my family would take summer picnics into the California hills north of our house. Those golden hills, dotted with dark green California oak trees, are still one of my favorite things in all the world, and they inspired today's wedding board. A casual, California picnic in late summer - utensils wrapped in brown twine, a simple meal of fruit, baguette, and cheese, local wine, and miniature almond cakes in place of a traditional wedding cake. Bentwood chairs around a rustic farm table fit perfectly in this space.
