Sorry it took so long to upload! We had over 3 hours of footage so it took me a while to edit. And I'm so sorry a lot of the words are off from the picture, I have no idea how that happened! This baby shower was thrown by my side of the family on April 10, 2010 and Gabe's side will be throwing us one in May =) I was 30 weeks and 1 day pregnant and we had so much fun! Lilia got SO many things, especially clothes! We also got a bassinet, baby swing, infant bath tub, high chair, and a travel system so sorry I couldnt fit everything into the video! We played so many fun games and you'll see some of them in the vid. Enjoy! =)

In 1939, President Franklin D. Roosevelt declared that Thanksgiving would be the next-to-last Thursday of November rather than the last. With the country still in the midst of The Great Depression, Roosevelt thought this would give merchants a longer period to sell goods before Christmas. Increasing profits and spending during this period, Roosevelt hoped, would aid bringing the country out of the Depression. At the time, it was considered inappropriate to advertise goods for Christmas until after Thanksgiving. However, Roosevelt's declaration was not mandatory; twenty-three states went along with this recommendation, and 22 did not. Other states, like Texas, could not decide and took both weeks as government holidays. Roosevelt persisted in 1940 to celebrate his "Franksgiving," as it was termed. The U.S. Congress in 1941 split the difference and established that the Thanksgiving would occur annually on the fourth Thursday of November, which was sometimes the last Thursday and sometimes the next to last. On November 26 that year President Roosevelt signed this bill into U.S. law.
Since 1947, or possibly earlier, the National Turkey Federation has presented the President of the United States with one live turkey and two dressed turkeys. The live turkey is pardoned and lives out the rest of its days on a peaceful farm. While it is commonly held that this tradition began with Harry Truman in 1947, the Truman Library has been unable to find any evidence for this. Still others claim that that the tradition dates back to Abraham Lincoln pardoning his son's pet turkey.[2] Both stories have been quoted in more recent presidential speeches.
In more recent years, two turkeys have been pardoned, in case the original turkey becomes unavailable for presidential pardoning. Since 2003 the public has been invited to vote for the two turkeys' names. In 2006, they were named Flyer and Fryer. In 2005, they were named Marshmallow and Yam (who went on to live at Disneyland); 2004's turkeys were named Biscuit and Gravy; in 2003, Stars and Stripes.
Since 1970, a group of Native Americans and others have held a controversial National Day of Mourning protest on Thanksgiving at Plymouth Rock in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

I just watched the Kendel Carson "Cowboy Boots" video for the umpteenth time in the last couple of days. I have to say that I am blown away by this song...what a melody!!!...as beautiful as anything you will ever hear. Kendel's performance on the song is smoldering and she is great in the video...you both are!! . The song is so dreamy and sensual and then...POW!! Right in the face. I love it!
Congrats to Bill (Hurley) for his great job on the filming and production. Here's hoping it gets seen and heard by a lot of people that dig great music!!

The song is so dreamy and sensual and then...POW!! Right in the face. I love it!

We proudly present you with the Stephano Barberis epic 2009 Montage in all its dreamy, sensual, and otherworldly rapture. In under 10 minutes overtop two signature songs, this escapist piece of work takes the viewer on a unique journey unseen amongst peers. What makes this surreal work even more poignant is that every single shot is captured on 35mm film in fact, out of the almost 90 music videos Stephano has directed to date, all but one have been shot on 35mm.
Truthfully, hit after hit, nomination after nomination, award after award, Stephano's vanguard work can be seen playing on television screens across the country every hour. What started as a kismet chance at directing only one single music video has blossomed into an auspicious career, turning Stephano into a creative national treasure in the process, handily becoming one of the most successful music video directors in Canadian history.
Whether it be in abstract, one-of-a-kind videos on MuchMusic, or cinematic poetry for videos aired on CMT, the visuals always seem to provide a dazzling red carpet for the song and move viewers to inspirational emotion. Indeed, for many artists, working with Stephano has become synonymous with an image re-invention, a career re-birth, and an almost spiritual connection between music and visuals. It is as though Stephano was born with this innate gift of exalted vision, having absolutely zero film training in his life (he went to school initially for urban planning, of all things!).
In the director's latest montage, there is something beyond creative at work. The visuals have tumbled out of dreamscapes and are melodic to the eye. There is a sophisticated sensuality, an intangible sense that what is being viewed is truly unique and utterly rare - a testament and celebration of a director that isn't content with following trends, but rather, creating them. Now, almost 90 music videos later, Stephano has garnered 15 Director Of The Year awards, including the 2005 Leo Award, ten consecutive BCCMA's, and the last two CCMA's, in addition to 46 nominations (including two MuchMusic MMVAs). The director's 1200-plus hours on set have resulted in over 35 nation-wide top 20 hits and scores of Medium-and-High rotation videos at MuchMusic and CMT, solidifying Stephano's reputation of coalescing commercial gleam with boundary-pushing artistic fortitude.
Jennifer and Emmanuel are having a "Casablanca" themed wedding filled with henna type motifs. There colors are beautiful and vibrant. I had so much fun creating these monograms for this unique couple.
