I saw this yesterday on advertsing/design goodness blog and I was blown away. As an invitation designer, you have to just appreciate the absolute brilliance of this wedding invitation. He removed the dot over the "I" from "Claire" on the first page to spell "Dave" on the second page. The invitation was created by Chris MacLean, a designer from the UK. You can view his portfolio at: Chris MacLean
What does a couple do when the bride and her family are from New Jersey, and the groom and his family are from Georgia? They opt for a beautiful bed and breakfast in Pennsylvania! Emily and Chris chose Ash Mill Farm in Bucks County for their intimate wedding, and it was the perfect place for a beautiful outdoor ceremony in June, and for friends and family to spend time together...
All of the flowers, from boutonnieres to centerpieces, were created by the bride's mother's best friend, a retired floral designer.
The groom and all of the groomsmen wore suits from J.Crew and ties from Kimera Design.
Emily's mother made her own wedding dress in 1974, including the beautiful embroidery on the panels. Emily wanted to incorporate some of the embroidery into her dress, while making it a bit more contemporary. She turned to Ann Hamilton in New York City, who specializes in reworking vintage and heirloom dresses, and who helped create the dress of Emily's dreams. Emily also wore heirloom jewelry.
Emily and her family made all of the stationery themselves: Emily designed a logo, her father drew the original design for the invitation, and her grandmother hand-calligraphed all of the envelopes.
Centerpieces included nests and flowers. A mantel in the barn was decorated with framed photos from the weddings of Emily's and Chris' parents and grandparents.
Guests each took home a box of the couple's favorite cookies, peanut butter kiss cookies made by the bride's cousin.
Congratulations Emily and Chris - best wishes to you! And thank you so much to Dave Robbins for sharing these photos with us!

A number of the nation's most talented filmmakers, including Gael Garcia Bernal (who starred in Amores Perros, The Motorcycle Diaries and Pedro Almodovar's Bad Education), Diego Luna (who came to fame with Y tu mama tambien), Carlos Reygadas (who won the jury prize at Cannes for his film Silent Light in 2007), Rodrigo Garcia (who directed the award winning Nine Lives and was nominated for an Emmy for directing an episode of HBO's Big Love) and Patricia Riggen (who directed 2008 Sundance hit La misma luna), to name just a few, have banded together to create a feature film, Revolución, made up of 10 individual short films that explore the topic of Mexico's revolution 100 years after it took place. The film has played at numerous film festivals throughout the last year, including the Cannes Film Festival, and will be available on YouTube for 24 hours on November 20 (thanks to YouTube partner Mubi) and for Mexico from November 20th at 23 hrs to November 21st until 23 hrs.

Ladies,
The lovely Felicity over @ All Things Bright and Beautiful posted a great interview with Charlotte Leung, Creative Director for the bridal gown company, Augusta Jones. I recently posted about this amazing line of wedding dresses. You can read the entire interview here. Enjoy!
My wedding will be April 18th of this year so it is officially two months away (59 days to be exact)!! I just spent some time looking at my videographer's new blog and I watched some videos of a bride getting ready and now I'm getting butterflies in my stomach!! The name of the company is Sweet Pea Studio. The owner, Daniel, is a great person to work with. He is very prompt and easy to get in touch with so check him out if you are in the NY NJ area.
I am so excited and I can't wait for my wedding. I am attending my first fitting next Saturday and I am anxiously waiting for my surprise bridal shower which could be any weekend now. It is so exciting to have all of these events to celebrate a marriage and I am truly happy to share these moments with you guys!
I sent my invitations out this past weekend and I completed my table numbers. I will post some photos for everyone. I am currently working on menus for the tables at the reception and crossword puzzles for my out of town baskets to test our closest family and friends to see how well they know us.
I am also working on invitations for many couples who are also getting married soon as well as monograms, reception details and other things so I have been keeping very busy.
My new website is going to be up soon (keeping my fingers crossed). It's up now but now totally set up so no peeking!!

Video Music (Live Performances)
Lyrics Misery Business
i'm in the business of misery
let's take it from the top
she's got a body like an hourglass that's tickin like a clock
it's a matter of time before we all run out...
when i thought he was mine she caught him by the mouth
i waited eight long months
she finally set him free
i told him i can't lie he was the only one for me
two weeks and we had caught on fire
she's got it out for me
but i wear the biggest smile ;-)
whoa... i never meant to brag
but i got him where i want him now
whoa... it was never my intention to brag
to steal it all away from you now
but god does it feel so good
cause i got him where i want him now
and if you could then you know you would
cause god it just feels so
it just feels so good.
Okay friends, here's my attempt at the moving announcement. What do you think? I'm no graphic designer, but I tried to make it look similar to the original. The information has been changed for obvious reasons, but this is the basic look. I'm still trying to figure out how to make the loop for the key. Maybe I'll just draw that in. How do you think I did?
That's a big dog! One of my favorite ways couples incorporate themselves into photographs is to have their furry friends present at the engagement shoot! Mr. SE and I are already planning on having our little bundle of fur make her way into our e-shoot.
The idea of dogs participating in the wedding is still catching on, but what do you think about bringing Fido to your engagement shoot?

Title: Predators Sneak Peek
Writer/producer Robert Rodriguez takes us on a behind-the-scenes look at the next chapter of the Predator saga.
A bold new chapter in the Predator universe, "Predators" was shot on location under Rodriguez's creative auspices at the filmmaker's Austin-based Troublemaker Studios, and is directed by Nimrod Antal. The film stars Adrien Brody as Royce, a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors who come to realize they've been brought together on an alien planet... as prey. With the exception of a disgraced physician, they are all cold-blooded killers - mercenaries, Yakuza, convicts, death squad members - human "predators" that are now being systemically hunted and eliminated by a new breed of alien Predators.
Predators Cast: Laurence Fishburne, Adrien Brody, Topher Grace, Alice Braga, Danny Trejo, Walton Goggins, Oleg Taktarov, Mahershalalhashbaz Ali, Louis Ozawa Changchien, Derek Mears
Predators sneak peek courtesy Twentieth Century Fox. Predators opens in US theaters July 9th, 2010. Predators is directed by Nimrod Antal.

I worked with Rachel on her save the date and monogram designs back in January. She was great to work with so I was thrilled when she contacted me about designing her wedding invitations for her. I designed her entire invitation suite including the wraparound labels. I also did the printing. I sent the invitations off to Rachel and she finished up by adding rhinestones, placing the invitations in the boxes and wrapping them with ribbon. She just sent me photos of the finished invitation suite and it just turned out gorgeous. Thanks Rachel!

Title: Rachel, Simone Bitton
On March 16, 2003, in the almost uninterrupted tide of Middle Easten current affairs and just before the war in Iraq, a small tragic event was reported by some press agencies, just a few lines in the newspaper, or a 45 -second report on television: A young American peace activist was killed in the Gaza Strip, crushed by an Israeli bulldozer while she was trying to prevent the destruction of a Palestinian house.
A few weeks later, some media reports mentioned that the Israeli military police conducted an inquiry, concluding that Rachel Corrie's death was accidental. Despite many eyewitnesses claims that she was intentionally murdered by the bulldozer driver, the American administration never asked for an independent inquiry, and the case was classified and forgotten.
Five years later, director Simone Bitton is somehow doing what a court should have done. RACHEL is a deep cinema investigation into the death of a young unknown girl, made with a rigour and scope normally reserved for first-rate historical characters. It gives word to all the people involved in Rachel's story, from Palestinian and international witnesses to Israeli military spokespersons and investigators, doctors, activists and soldiers linked to the affair. The film begins like a classical documentary, but very soon it develops and transcends its subject, transforming into a cinematographic meditation on youth, war, idealism and political utopia. Palestine, the reality of which is filmed close-up, becomes a metaphor - a tomb for a child of today.
In the beginning, there is this: She was called Rachel Corrie. She was 22. She was convinced that her American nationality would be enough to make her an effective human shield, that her simple presence would save lives, olive trees, wells and houses. Like many youngsters of her generation, she kept a travel log in the form of e-mails, which she sent to her family and friends in the United States.
During the eight weeks that she had left to live, Rachel Corrie was to discover that which, in her own words, no documentary film could have taught her.
